Event Details

Location: Radisson Blue Hotel, Glasgow

Aims:

  • Understand the principal of crown lengthening techniques

  • Understand the principle of biological width

  • How to apply biological width to restorative cases

  • How to assess and implement crown lengthening procedures

  • Discuss surgical procedures including use of hard and soft tissue lasers

  • Discuss and Treatment plan cases

  • Implement knowledge on practical pigs jaw using surgical and laser techniques

Educational learning outcome

  • Be able to differentiate between functional and cosmetic crown lengthening cases

  • Be able to treatment plan cases that need crown lengthening

  • Be able to perform different crown lengthening techniques on practical pigs jaw

Morning: Theory, treatment planning and surgical techniques
Afternoon: Practical animal jaws surgical and laser training

CPD hours 6.5 hour
Development outcome C

Remote mentoring included after competition of course at no extra cost

    Hatem Algraffee qualified as a dentist from the Royal London Hospital in 1996. In 2004 he completed four-year specialist training at Guys Hospital/Kings College achieving two Master degrees.

    Since 2004 Hatem has been involved in undergraduate and teaching and has over 15 years teaching experience at all levels. He is passionate and dedicated to teaching and this is reflected in the amount of time committed to mentoring colleagues both during and after completing PerioAcademy courses.

    He believes in delivering teaching excellence and to create a relaxed atmosphere to maximize learning. His emphasis is on practical teaching, repetition and then planning cases jointly. Long term mentoring is emphasized to reflect on progress and refinement of skills.

    Hatem works in private practice approximately four days a week with remaining time dedicated to Perio Academy teaching and mentoring colleagues.
